About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced California Licensed Landscape Architect to join our team on a project-based, remote basis. The ideal candidate will have minimum 5 years of professional landscape architecture experience in the U.S., with a strong grasp of California-specific site planning, planting design, and code compliance.
This role is best suited for someone who enjoys focusing on technical design, documentation, and execution, and is comfortable working independently within a larger interdisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review landscape design plans, planting plans, irrigation layouts, and construction documents
Ensure all landscape designs comply with California codes, local ordinances, and sustainability requirements
Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, and project managers to integrate landscape with site and building design
Develop conceptual and technical landscape designs for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments
Provide input on materials, plant selections, and climate-appropriate design strategies
Assist with documentation for planning approvals and permitting as needed
Maintain accuracy, detail, and efficiency throughout the project lifecycle
What We’re Looking For
California Licensed Landscape Architect
Portfolio required showcasing technical and design work relevant to California practice
Minimum 5 years of professional landscape architecture experience in the U.S.
Strong design and documentation skills across a range of project types
Proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and landscape design software (e.g., Land F/X, SketchUp, Lumion)
Knowledge of California native and drought-tolerant planting, site design standards, and permitting processes
Detail-oriented, dependable, and capable of managing project timelines independently
Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a remote team environment
