About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented, efficient, highly skilled California Licensed Structural Engineer to join our team. This is a project-based, remote position.


The ideal candidate will focus on structural design, analysis, and oversight and will work closely with our in-house team to review, guide, and provide technical feedback on structural plans for residential, commercial, and/or institutional projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform structural engineering analysis, design, and calculations to ensure safety, constructability, and code compliance

  • Develop and communicate structural design intent through hand sketches, markups, and technical notes

  • Evaluate structural integrity, site conditions, and special considerations for each project

  • Ensure all work complies with the California Building Codes (CBC) and applicable standards

  • Collaborate closely with internal production teams, project managers, clients, and subcontractors across all project phases

  • Provide technical guidance, review, and quality oversight to the internal team to ensure accuracy and completeness of structural sets


What We’re Looking For

  • Licensed Civil Engineer (PE) in California – please include your license number on your resume

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

  • Minimum 5 years of structural engineering experience

  • Professional liability (E&O) and general liability (GL) insurance coverage required

  • Strong structural analysis and design skills

  • Extensive experience in structural design for residential and commercial buildings; experience with institutional projects is a plus

  • Strong command of structural systems, construction materials, and California building codes and standards such as ACI, AISC, etc

  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts and corrections to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Highly organized, with the ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines
