About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented, efficient, highly skilled California Licensed Structural Engineer to join our team. This is a project-based, remote position.
The ideal candidate will focus on structural design, analysis, and oversight and will work closely with our in-house team to review, guide, and provide technical feedback on structural plans for residential, commercial, and/or institutional projects.
Key Responsibilities
Perform structural engineering analysis, design, and calculations to ensure safety, constructability, and code compliance
Develop and communicate structural design intent through hand sketches, markups, and technical notes
Evaluate structural integrity, site conditions, and special considerations for each project
Ensure all work complies with the California Building Codes (CBC) and applicable standards
Collaborate closely with internal production teams, project managers, clients, and subcontractors across all project phases
Provide technical guidance, review, and quality oversight to the internal team to ensure accuracy and completeness of structural sets
What We’re Looking For
Licensed Civil Engineer (PE) in California – please include your license number on your resume
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
Minimum 5 years of structural engineering experience
Professional liability (E&O) and general liability (GL) insurance coverage required
Strong structural analysis and design skills
Extensive experience in structural design for residential and commercial buildings; experience with institutional projects is a plus
Strong command of structural systems, construction materials, and California building codes and standards such as ACI, AISC, etc
Clear communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts and corrections to both technical and non-technical audiences
Highly organized, with the ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines
